Raises, Mileage Increases and Other Benefits in New CCS contract

Highlights Include:

Raises for all HCAs July 1, 2007 and July 1, 2008.

  • The new hire-in pay rate will be $9.95, with 31 cent increases to the rest of the pay scale to $10.65 at the top step.
  • In 2008, everyone gets a 36 cent raise (starting pay $10.31, top step will $11.01)
  • Pay raises for shift rates (approximately 3%) for live-in and sleepover.

Mileage increases to 36 cents/mile July 1, 2007 and 44 cents in 2008.

Twice-monthly pay starting no later than March 31, 2008.

Paid Time Off increases to one hour for every forty hours worked effective July 1, 2007.

New pay differentials of 25 cents per hour for three categories:

  • 25 cents/hour starting August 1, 2007 for clients who need total toileting or total transfer ( fifty cents/hour if both) and
  • 25 cents/hour starting in July 2008 for clients assessed with behavior needs (as determined & assigned by CCS)

Employee choice between health care plans during open enrollment

  • Group Health Cooperative Plan B OR
  • Premera Blue Cross or Kaiser Permanente -- current Plan C

Contributions to our training and skills upgrading fund to provide professional workforce development.

This will help us get ready for the certification, career development and peer mentoring programs which we won in the Legislature this year.

This round of bargaining reaffirmed the good working partnership and concern for quality care shared by our caregivers union and CCS.
