Our New Contract for 07-09: Raises, Increased Mileage, Great Health Care and More

SEIU Healthcare 775NW caregivers and Chesterfield have approved our next union contract, with raises, increased mileage in 2008 and great health care.

Raises & Higher Wage Scale!

We won a $0.25/hour raise July 1, 2007 and July 1, 2008. Plus, a new step has been added (at 14,000 hours) to the wage scale that rewards experience.

Hourly Scale from 7/1/2007 to 6/30/2008

Step A	0-2,000 hrs		$9.78
Step B 2,001-4,000 hrs $9.92
Step C 4,001-6,000 hrs $10.07
Step D 6,001-8,000 hrs $10.21
Step E 8,001-10,000 hrs          $10.36
Step F 10,001-12,000 hrs          $10.51
Step G 12,001-14,000 hrs          $10.66
Step H 14,001+ hrs $10.81

Workers already “topped out” will also get a 25 cent raise both years. Live-in pay also increases.

No New Costs for Health, Dental, Prescription Drug & Vision!

Health care plans through the SEIU Health Benefits Trust includes your choice of Premera Blue Cross or Group Health. Your premium cost is still $17 per month. No annual deductible and low copays. A better choice of dentists through Premera (instead of Standard dental) will start later this year.

Professional Training!

Your time in training will now be paid at your FULL PAY rate, not $9.43/hour!

Chesterfield will contribute to a new training partnership fund to improve training, build a career ladder and achieve professional certification. This year Chesterfield will also start our own on-the-job educational “in services”.

Increased Mileage!

Starting July 1, 2008, mileage reimbursement goes up to 45 cents per mile for mileage between clients (unlimited) and for client errand mileage (60 mi/mo)

Fair Way To Get More Client Hours & Qualify For Health Care!

Chesterfield will begin tracking caregiver requests for additional hours, matching client needs and caregiver qualifications on the schedule. Additional hours will go first to workers trying to qualify for health care or those with the most hours of experience.
