SEIU Healthcare 775NW's Endorsements

Obama-Gregoire-Burner

This year’s elections are as important as any in a generation. Much of the country’s and our state’s attention has been focused on the presidential elections.

Based on our research, our union has made several endorsements for this year's elections. We need to elect ALL of these candidates (Sen. Barack Obama for President, Gov. Chris Gregoire for Governor, Darcy Burner for Congress and a large number of state and local candidates).

Obama for President/Gregoire for Governor

The race for president between Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain is still close at the national level. The governor's race in Washington, is even closer.

Four years ago Gov. Chris Gregoire beat Republican Dino Rossi by just 133 votes.

In the latest polls, Gregoire and Rossi are tied. It's a tossup. It's just too close to call. Your vote could make the difference.  If you haven't received your ballot yet, call your County Elections Office.

Washington State SEIU Endorses Obama

Obama!!Washington State SEIU, the state's largest labor union, has endorsed Barack Obama for President. Representing over 100,000 workers, including over 30,000 long-term caregivers in the Northwest, Washington SEIU called Obama the only candidate who can unite people to bring the fundamental change our health care system needs.

Responding to the endorsement, Senator Obama said, "I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Washington State SEIU, and together we will provide affordable, quality health care for every single American. Washington State families deserve to know that we will end the game playing in Washington and unite all of us to change the way the health care system works so that every single American has the coverage they need."

Darcy Burner for Congress

Governor Gregoire and Darcy BurnerDarcy Burner cares about the issues long-term care workers care about. She supports training for long-term care workers, supports access to affordable healthcare for all Washingtonians, including children and seniors, and supports high quality education. She is a strong advocate for long-term care consumers and workers.

Darcy is the kind of leader working families can count on!
