Give working families a break - not big business!

Support the Working Familes Credit bill

While the State House Finance Committee recently approved a massive tax break for Microsoft and other wealthy companies, they've so far rejected a modest tax break for working families - instead, they passed only another study of the idea. They need to get their priorities straight.

Low income families pay a MUCH higher percentage of household income in state and local taxes than the wealthy. These taxes disproportionately affect low-income workers, including long term caregivers, nurses' aides, child care workers and entry-level teachers, and our families. It's not fair!

The Working Families Credit would increase tax fairness by offering lower-wage families a tax credit equal to 10% of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Contact your state legislators today and ask them to support the Working Families Credit -- it's about basic fairness!
