Extendicare Fir Lane Contract 2008-2009
SEIU Healthcare 775NW caregivers and Extendicare have approved our
union contract, with raises and a labor-management committee to help solve
facility issues and help increase quality care
for our residents.
Some of the highlights include:
Better Wages!
We
won raises of $0.25/hour effective mid-February 2008. This raise is in
addition to raises Extendicare gave to workers in July 2007. We will be
going back to the table in July 2008 to bargain another wage increase
as well!
Guaranteed Minimum Hiring Rates
We set minimum hiring rates for all job classifications in the bargaining unit:
Restorative Aide $10.00
NAC $10.00
Cook $8.25
Activities Assistant $8.07
NAR $9.00
Dietary/Housekeeping/Laundry $8.07
These minimum rates will help improve the recruitment of workers for open positions.

Our
contract guarantees that every year we go back to the table to
negotiate wage increases based on new Medicaid funding we win from the
Legislature.
