Horizon House Contract 2008-2010

SEIU Healthcare 775NW caregivers and Horizon House have approved our union contract, with raises, shift differentials and a labor-management committee to help solve facility issues.

Some of the highlights include:

Better Wages!
We won raises of 3.25%, effective January 1, 2008. 3.0% raises will occur again on January 1, 2009 and then again on January 1, 2010.

Guaranteed Wage Scale!

We have a wage scale that sets wage rates for each job classification based on experience at the facility. Please refer to Appendix A of the contract (right column) for specific rates.

These wage scale rates will help improve recruitment and retention of workers and quality care for our residents.

Shift Differentials
Workers that work a majority of their evening shift will receive a $0.60/hour differential on top of their regular pay. Workers that work the majority of their night shift will receive a $1.00/hour differential on top of their regular pay.

Employer Contributions to Health Care!
Horizon House will provide medical, dental and other benefits to eligible employees. All eligible employees receive employee only coverage at no premium cost to them. The employer will pay 64% or 51% of the dependent premium costs, depending on employee income level.

Employer Retirement Contributions
Eligible employees may enroll in Horizon House’s 403(b) retirement plan. They will match employee contributions at a rate of 2% to 6%, depending on how much the worker puts in.

Labor-Management Committee
Union members and management representatives will be coming together regularly to discuss important issues in the facility and look for mutually beneficial ways to solve problems.
