Great Union Contract for 2007-2010!
SEIU Healthcare 775NW caregivers and Providence Mother Joseph Care Center have approved our union contract, with raises, shift differentials and a labor-management committee to help solve facility issues.
Some of the highlights include:
We won raises of $0.40-$0.50/hour depending on job classification, effective October 1, 2007. The same raises will occur again on October 1, 2008 and then again on October 1, 2009.
We have a scale that sets minimum hiring rates for each job classification. Please refer to Appendix C of the contract for specific rates.
These minimum hiring rates will help improve recruitment of workers and quality care for our residents.
Workers that work a majority of their evening shift will receive a $0.75/hour differential on top of their regular pay. Workers that work the majority of their night shift will receive a $1.00/hour differential on top of their regular pay. Workers on regularly scheduled weekend shifts will also receive $1.00 - $2.00/hour differentials on top of their regular pay, depending on how many shifts they cover.
- Employer Contributions to Health Care!
Providence will provide medical, dental and other benefits to eligible employees. A portion of these costs will be paid by Providence in the form of benefit dollars. Any full-time employee selecting to cover their dependents shall receive benefit dollars equal to a minimum of 50% of the costs of dependent coverage.
- Labor-Management Committee
Union members and management representatives will be coming together regularly to discuss important issues in the facility and look for mutually beneficial ways to solve problems.
